Join the Piscataqua Decorative Arts Society as Dr. Kimberly Alexander, Director of Museum Studies and Lecturer at the University of New Hampshire, unveils her latest project. In her role, Dr. Alexander has spearheaded a captivating flax project, leading to the creation of the exhibition "Combing History: Flax and Linen in New Hampshire."
About Dr. Kimberly Alexander:
With a rich background in curatorial positions at prestigious New England museums such as the MIT Museum, the Peabody Essex Museum, and Strawbery Banke, Dr. Alexander brings a depth of expertise to her work. She instructs on museum studies, material culture, American history, architectural history, and New Hampshire history. Her recent book, "Treasures Afoot: Shoe Stories from the Georgian Era," delves into the history of early Anglo-American footwear from the 1740s to the 1790s. As a former Andrew Oliver Research Fellow at the Massachusetts Historical Society and guest curator of the exhibition “Fashioning the New England Family” at MHS, Dr. Alexander continues to shape the field with her research.
